"Simplifying chemicals regulation - less is more?"

Tuesday, 18th March 2025, 6.30 pm (entry 6.00 pm)

Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union, Rue Montoyer 47, 1000 Brussels

The NRW chemicals companies Covestro, Evonik and LANXESS would like to engage in a constructive dialogue with you on the future of chemicals regulation. At a time when sustainability and innovation are crucial, we believe it is important to discuss efficient regulatory frameworks that take into account environmental and health protection as well as competitiveness and jobs.

In our panel discussion, we want to discuss the future of the chemical industry with you in order to:

  • to highlight the challenges and opportunities of current chemicals regulation;
  • discuss possible simplifications and improvements to existing regulations;
  • discuss the impact of regulation on innovation, sustainability and competitiveness;
  • to conduct an open dialogue between chemical industry executives and policy makers.
