In the fourth year of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the information war remains a major weapon to destabilize Ukraine. Independent Ukrainian media play a frontline role in fighting disinformation, defending democracy and keeping citizens informed as the country advances on its path towards EU integration. With the war dragging on, Ukraine’s media sector urgently needs international support to continue fulfilling its vital role.
Join us for this event, which brings together European policymakers, journalists, media development experts and Ukraine’s supporters to highlight the resilience of Ukrainian regional media outlets. We want furthermore to explore how we can collectively support the country and its media sector in continuing their indispensable work. We will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with Ukrainian frontline journalists and gain insights into their daily struggles.
The interactive part will showcase video snapshots and share personal stories from the frontline, followed by a lively debate on resilience strategies for Ukrainian media.
This event is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Simultaneous interpretation EN – UA will be provided.
After the discussion you are invited to a networking lunch inspired by Ukrainian specialties.
